Township government is grassroots government. The trustees’ intimate knowledge of Pleasant Township, its needs and its citizens enables them to offer more personal service than any other unit of government.

What makes our township the right place for your family

Care and maintenance of roads is the largest function of Pleasant Township. We also provide fire and E.M.S. protection through contracts with neighboring entities. Pleasant Township is a zoned community which requires zoning certificates for most building projects.

Our Officers

The Pleasant Township Board of Trustees is made up of 3 elected Trustees and the Pleasant Township Fiscal Officer, which is also an elected position. The Board meets the Second and Last Wednesday of each month with a meeting starting at 7:00 pm at the Pleasant Township Building located at 10507 Old Tile Factory Rd. Van Wert, Ohio. All meetings are open to the public.

About Pleasant Township

Pleasant Township is one of 12 Townships located in Van Wert County Ohio.  We're a rural township with many housing areas and a strong agriculture base. The majority of the County Seat of Van Wert located in our Township. Pleasant Township is responsible for all the unincorporated areas of the Township which includes: fire/EMS protection, road and ditch maintenance, and zoning regulations.
